Overview of Forged Steel Check Valves

Forged steel check valve refers to a valve that automatically opens and closes the valve disc based on the flow of the medium itself, used to prevent medium backflow. It is also known as a check valve, one-way valve, backflow valve, and backpressure valve. Check valve is an automatic valve that mainly functions to prevent medium backflow, prevent pump and drive motor reversal, and prevent the discharge of container medium. Check valves can also be used on pipelines that provide supply to auxiliary systems whose pressure may rise above the system pressure. Check valves can be mainly divided into swing check valves (rotating according to the center of gravity) and lift check valves (moving along the axis).

There are three types of valve cover designs for forged steel check valves. The first type is a bolt type valve cover, which is connected by a concave convex surface and uses stainless steel strips and flexible graphite wound gaskets. Ring connections can also be used according to requirements. The second type is a welded valve cover, which is sealed by threads and welded, and can also be directly welded according to requirements. The third type is a self sealing valve cover, which is connected to the self sealing valve cover by threads.

There are three different structural designs for check valves, namely: vertical lift check valve, spherical check valve, and swing check valve. Connection methods include flanges, butt welding, etc!

Structural design and specifications for forged steel check valves

Check valves are manufactured according to MSS SP-118, BS5352, ANSI/ASME B16.34, tested and accepted according to API 598, and labeled according to MSS SP-25.
